Padukone is from Mangalorean background and her native language is Konkani. Her lineage hails from Padukone village located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in Karnataka, the Indian state. Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend before retiring in the late 1980s. Her mother, a travel agent, is also from the village.
